Parent and Appointed Board Member

As a dedicated parent of a child in our district and an active member of our community, I am honored to announce my candidacy for election to the La Habra City School District Board of Education. With the privilege of currently serving on the board, I have gained valuable insights and experience that fuel my passion for fostering positive educational outcomes for all students.

My journey with La Habra schools began the very first year my child entered school. I was appointed as PTA president and served on the School Site Council for two years. I was also selected by the district to serve on the Measure O Citizens Oversight Committee, ensuring accountable and responsible spending of valuable bond funds. My experience as an Eagle Scout and my ongoing volunteer work with my child's Cub Scout pack have strengthened my leadership skills, commitment to service, and dedication to the youth of our community. A vacancy on the school board then presented me with a unique opportunity to maximize my positive impact on my own child’s education, along with the education of every child in the district.

Throughout my tenure on the school board, I have championed transparency and accountability. I believe that open communication and honest dialogue between the board, parents, teachers, and the community are essential for building trust and achieving our common goals. By prioritizing these values, I have worked tirelessly to create a more inclusive and responsive educational environment. 

My vision for our schools includes a focus on innovative teaching methods, comprehensive support services, and equitable resource allocation. I am dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of our student population and ensuring that every child has the tools and support they need to succeed. I visit every campus as often as possible not only to ensure our policies and programs have a positive impact, but to communicate directly with teachers and staff, listen to concerns, and to convey my full support of all they do for our children.

As we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead, I am committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to make informed decisions that benefit our students and community.
